Ayn Rand quotes
We do not know why, when we think of them, we feel of a sudden that the earth is good and that it is not a burden to live.
And that night we knew that to hold the body of women in our arms is neither ugly nor shameful, but the one ecstasy granted to the race of men.
We go on and we bless the earth under our feet.
We looked into each other’s eyes and we knew that the breath of a miracle...

Me: “I need you to know that I am not a Mac person. I find the Apple company elitist and it’s products overly complicated and finicky. I’m a Windows Vista girl myself with a tough-love, brute-force approach to computer troubles. If my computer freezes, I unplug it and take out the battery. Which explains why I was less than thrilled when I recently became the proud owner of a...

Many the Miles
I’m putting miles in between me and the person I was with him. A movie by myself, that’s a mile. A nighttime run, that’s a mile. Dancing with friends, cheap manicures, cooking dinner, working on my tan, reading a book, climbing temples, driving boats, talking to strangers, paying it forward and asking for it back, saving myself, all miles. College, several miles. Meal plans and...

New Year's Resolution
To free myself from things that tatter my soul.
To become complete, in and of myself.
To believe in love again.
The present is all we have
I’m tired of hearing I’m so young, that just wait, I’ll learn/grow/figure it out, I have my whole life ahead of me. You’re just terrified and you’re using my age as a weak excuse. But the thing is, I don’t have my whole life ahead of me. Everything can change in an instant and meanwhile, tengo que obedecer a mi corazon. And you can’t just keep waiting for...

I hope you don’t find it too difficult to remove the very identifiable stickers. Please forgive me for adhering them so securely, I never expected them to come off.
I hope you truly enjoy the music collection I’ve been building since I was thirteen and that you’re not bothered when it barely plays through the blown-out speakers. Be sure to check out the homemade tracks my friend...

No te prometo nada
Time to go down to the sea and confess my sins.
Sometimes a great misnomer: “Indeed Homer places Hector as the very noblest of all the heroes in the Iliad: he is both peace-loving and brave, thoughtful as well as bold, a good son, husband and father, and totally without darker motives.”

The stars are so draining to look at. But the sunsets recharge me.

Typical
I leave for Guatemala in just under two weeks. I’m a little bit sad, a little bit mad, a little bit terrified, a little bit excited, and a little bit ready for it to happen already. I kind of feel like it’s atonement for last summer. And I feel like maybe I can handle it this time. Man, if I had gone to Panama like they wanted me to last summer, I’d’ve had a real freakout....
Real antagonism is based on love, a love which has not recognized itself.

Pattern
It seems that each mildly satisfying encounter I have coincides with a sunburn. Perhaps I should stay away from men and the beach.
On the other hand, I have a brilliantly golden tan.

Sunburn
I went down to the sea and I let everything go. I was reckless and wild and stayed up far too late. And when I kissed the sea goodbye as the sun was coming up, I knew it had cured me.

A Sea-Thing's Borrowed Words
A Sea-Thing’s Borrowed Words
The French say: “Follow the river and you will find the sea.”
A finger pointed eastward, a journey of mere hours
The vague promise of the ocean and it’s starry showers
The sandy shores that raised the children free
Wind roaring about me, I try to smell the sea.
I long for the endless immensity, chere Antoine,
Dreaming of immortal waters speckled by the dawn
Though...

The Future
